The Management of Caritas Tanzania

 

 

The Plenary Assembly of the Bishops is the sole body which makes policies of CT.  The management of C.T is under the Board.  The Board is responsible in supervising the implementation of the policies and decisions made by the Plenary Assembly of the Bishops.

 

The day to day management of C.T is under the Executive Secretary of  C.T. Who reports to the Secretary General of TEC in all matters of management of CT.  The Secretary General is the Chief executive Officer of the Catholic Secretariat  in which Caritas Tanzania is part it.   Executive Secretary of C.T is responsible to coordinate the programme officers and ensure that the programmes are developed and implemented in accordance with policies of the Bishops.

 

He/she is responsible to promote efficiency and effectives among the programme officers and supporting staff.  Under the Executive Secretary, there are section coordinators.  They coordinate the sections.  There are four sections  Development, WID/GAD and Children, Youth and Emergency.

 

In each section there are programme officers.  The programme officers coordinate programmes.

Currently, there are 5 programme officers.  Among them are 2 Section Coordinators.  In total Caritas Tanzania has 14 staff, some of the Caritas Staff are at the office  while others are at Msimbazi Training Centre.
