What is Caritas Tanzania?

 

For decades Caritas Tanzania has been serving the people in the areas of Development and Relief.

Caritas Tanzania (C.T) is a Development and Relief organisation of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference with the mandate of facilitating the development and relief activities of 30 dioceses in Tanzania. 

It was established in 1972.  It is a member of Caritas Internationalis and other National & International Networks.

Caritas Tanzania play three major roles.  These are to facilitate and promote development and relief activities, offer consultancy to the development and relief projects/programmes and advocacy at national and international levels.  In addition to these roles  CT also coordinates emergency/disaster activities.

 

All the dioceses development and relief offices of Tanzania are the members of Caritas Tanzania.
