Development Section

 

Development section manages four programmes capacity building of diocesan and Caritas Tanzania Development and Relief programe officers.  The aim is to increase the knowledge and skills of programe officers so that the community based projects/programmes could be properly managed and have a sustainable projects/management.

 

The Water Supply and Sanitation programme is also managed by the section CT mobilises funds for the dioceses which would implement the community based water supply and sanitation projects.

 

Currently, the benefiting communities are in dioceses of Iringa, Shinyanga, Mbulu and Same, Mbeya, Mahenge and Tanga

 

The Section also works together with the dioceses in promoting the participation of the communities and church leaders in formulation of poverty reduction strategies and policy.   The section facilitates the dioceses to monitor all activities related to poverty reduction.

 

The Food Security and Nutrition projects is also coordinated by the section, the project aims at promoting Food Security and Nutrition through capacity building of the Programme Officers and mobilising funds for the community based projects in the dioceses.
