ARE WE PREPARED FOR DISASTERS?
Caritas
Tanzania will conduct the Disaster
Management Training Workshops for the next three years starting from 2005.
At
least twenty (20) Caritas staff from both National and Diocesan Caritas
offices will benefit from this program.
To start with sixteen dioceses will be involved on the basis of
being prone to disasters such as drought, floods and refugees.
The
final anticipated results of this program is to increase the level of
skills and knowledge of the staff to deal with Disaster Management issues
in a full fledged manner and efficiently.
Also
a National Disaster Management Team will be formed out of this project.
The
team will deal with major and complex disasters when they occur and advice
the National office accordingly.
